Cedar Key is a small community on the gulf coast, located about an hour's drive west of Gainesville. It houses an interesting mix of fishermen, clammers, artists, and tourists, all surrounded by miles of wild shorelines. Approximately 700 residents live on the island. It's population swells during the Fine Art Festival attracting thousands of art lover's from far and wide.
This island is a photographer's dream, with a huge variety of colorful wading birds, coastal scenery, and inland forests. The residents of this close-knit community provide a welcoming atmosphere for anyone who stops by, I come to Cedar Key not only for the photo opportunities, but also just to relax in a wonderful little slice of old Florida.
